Cancellation of Lessons

  • If you or your instructor wish to cancel a lesson, at least 48 hours (2 days) notice should be given. If your instructor cancels with less notice, they will rearrange the lesson.
  • If less than 48 hours' notice is given, the full lesson fee must be paid.
  • If you pause lessons within a pre-paid block for 12 weeks or more, any remaining lessons will be forfeited.
  • Your instructor cannot be held responsible for mechanical or electrical failure that prevents or ends a lesson or driving test.
  • If the weather is too severe, your instructor can rearrange your lesson, considering your ability and advice from motoring organisations. If you cancel at short notice due to weather and conditions are suitable to drive, the lesson will be chargeable.
  • The DVSA requires three clear working days' notice to cancel a driving test. You may lose your DVSA test fee if your instructor says you are not ready within this notice period.

Payments & Bookings

  • Block booking payments must be paid in advance.
  • Pay by cash or cheque direct to your instructor, or by credit or debit card online or in the car.
  • Failure to pay in advance will result in your booking being automatically cancelled.
  • If a block booking (10, 20 or 30 hours) is cancelled for any reason, lessons already taken will be charged at the normal hourly rate.
  • Give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a booked lesson, or you may be charged the full amount.
  • You and your instructor agree the timing, location and duration of each lesson.
  • You must tell your instructor about anything affecting your ability or entitlement to have tuition, such as losing your provisional licence.
  • Your instructor will contact you if running more than 5 minutes late, and the lost time will be added to the end of the lesson or a later one. If you are late, that time will be lost.

Insurance & Vehicle Damage

Fully Insured Car

Your instructor carries the appropriate motor insurance, should you be involved in a collision as a learner driver while in control of the instructor's tuition vehicle.

Damage During Lessons & Tests

Your instructor will make every effort to avoid damage. If they consider you were driving dangerously or unpredictably and damage is caused, you will be expected to pay half towards repairs, up to the insurance excess. This will be discussed at the time.

During driving tests the examiner will not stop you from hitting the kerb or causing similar minor damage, so any damage caused by you on test will be charged to you, up to the level of excess on the instructor's insurance policy.

Collection & Use of Data

Any personal data you provide will be held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will use your personal data for the purpose(s) for which you provided it. It may also be used for marketing, research and statistical purposes and crime prevention.

Transferability of Lessons

You cannot sell or transfer lessons purchased in your name to any other person.
